How do I unpack my battery?

• Open the cardboard box, and remove the filling. Be aware of any spillages in the box, the electrolyte may have been absorbed into the packing material.

• Take the wrapped battery out of the box and place on a flat surface. Carefully cut the top of the wrapping open and lift the battery clear.

• Dispose of all packaging, in a plastic bag and seal. Do not reuse the packaging.

I have accepted delivery and there is fluid in the packing, what do I do?

• This is probably a small volume of electrolyte – AS THIS MAYBE ELECTROLITE, DO NOT PLACE ON ANY SURFACES SUCH AS CARPETS, WOODEN FLOORS, SINKS, AVOID CONTACT WITH CLOTHS AND SKIN etc

• Take the battery out of all packaging and wash with copious amounts of water and soap flakes or washing powder. Avoid contact with skin clothes, carpets floors, lawns etc

• Check the battery for signs of any physical damage

• If there is damage please contact us.

• Normally this fluid is excess which as escaped from the battery breather vents. Open the cell tops if applicable and check fluid levels in all cells. If levels are visible but below the top of the plates use de-ionized or distilled water only.

• If the battery requires more than 5% of its size in water then please contact us.
