Lead-acid batteries contain hydrogen-oxygen gases that can be explosive and sulphuric acid that can cause severe burns. To help avoid risk of danger and injury, observe these precautions when handling or working with a lead-acid battery: • Wear approved safety glasses or goggles and a face

Be aware of any spillages in the box, the electrolyte may have been absorbed
into the packing material. I have accepted delivery and there is fluid in the packing, what do I do? • This is probably a small volume of electrolyte – AS THIS MAYBE ELECTROLITE, DO NOT PLACE ON ANY SURFACES SUCH AS CARPETS, WOODEN FLOORS, SINKS, AVOID CONTACT WITH CLOTHS AND SKIN etc • Take the battery out of all packaging and wash with copious amounts of water and soap flakes or washing powder.
